Ezer Mizion's Advocacy Unit provides families of children with special needs with information on available services and financial benefits and helps them obtain those services and benefits. The Advocacy Unit fills a crucial need, as many parents are unaware of that these benefits exist or are overwhelmed by the bureaucratic procedures involved in obtaining them. The Advocacy Unit provides assistance in procuring benefits from the National Insurance Institute; the Ministries of Health, Housing and Education; charitable foundations; educational facilities; and others. In addition, Ezer Mizion's Advocacy Unit provides case representation at public offices, recommends therapists and tutors, assists with transportation and other arrangements, and refers families to Ezer Mizion's summer camps, afternoon clubs and other programs. |
