A simple walking program can go a long way in improving the physical and emotional health of senior citizens, notes Benny Kelner, Coordinator of Physical Activity at Ezer Mizion's Health and Physical Activity Center for Senior Adults. As part of Ezer Mizion's community education program, Kelner has been lecturing about the importance of physical activity for senior citizens in order to ensure health and proper functioning.
The lectures, which took place within the framework of "Senior Citizen's Month," sponsored by the Ministry of Social Services, included talks at Jerusalem's Beit Beyer senior residents home, a sheltered living facility, and a club for golden agers at the Petach Tikvah Community Center. |
