The Oldest Volunteer (08/10)
Not long ago, the phone rang at the Ezer Mizion Petach Tikvah branch office. On the the line was the vibrant voice of a woman who was "interested in volunteering".

The branch worker politely asked the caller for personal details - such as her age, what kind of volunteer work interested her, etc. To her absolute shock, it turned out that the "young" volunteer was "just" 92 years old! She was willing to volunteer for any job. It was very important to her to include a volunteering experience in her schedule, she explained.

The Petach Tikvah branch volunteer coordinator hesitated a bit, and then found the ideal job: Our volunteer would join the food packaging that went on every week at the branch.

One day, the young-at-heart volunteer knocked at the door of the Petach Tikvah branch office and introduced herself. The nephew accompanying her was also drawn into the volunteer work. Within a short time, the two were immersed in their tasks, carrying them out with efficiency and precision.

At the end of the day, after packaging many dozens of portions for the sick, the volunteer thanked everyone for the tremendous privilege she had to help those in need. She even announced: "I'll be back tomorrow, with G-d's help!"

Come today and be a part of a whole enterprise of giving, helping and supporting others, and merit a long, healthy life!
