| The elegant home of Fran and Charles Gammal of Deal, NJ was a beehive of activity as over a thousand NJ and Brooklyn residents participated in the annual event for the benefit of Ezer Mizion's Lottie's Kitchen.
One area of the magnificent Gammal home was the scene of professional food demonstrations by Kessler Catering & Takahiro Hirai of Taka and by Kushner Cuisine. Another area housed the Kitchen Boutique featuring the latest in kitchen gadgetry. In a third, participants vied to purchase delectable delights available at the Bakery.
Individual portrait sittings by Susan Menashe were a highlight for mothers who wait all year to bring their offspring for Susan's special touch. Adding the spice of spirituality to the event was a talk by the famed Bonnie Mansour, a feature not to be missed.
Lottie's Kitchen was founded in memory of Lottie and Haim Chalom ob"m by their four daughters, Susan Menashe, Nina Cohen, Linda Dayan and Claudia Bildricci, who worked tirelessly to make this event a grand success.
"We couldn't have done it alone," say the four sisters. "We have no words for the dedicated volunteers who gave of their time and talents. The feeling of togetherness as we put together this event was vibrant." Melissa Sutton was the event's graphics designer. Beatrice Sutton was behind every detail of the bakery. Mozelle Tawil was everywhere organizing a myriad of details. Suzanne Sasson put together the kitchen boutique.
Joanie Mann made the Chinese auction happen Bridget ben Dayan coordinated the demonstrators and created a most professional looking cookbook. Terri Elbaz took charge of the lunch. Jane Chouka did a great job on publicity,.Mandy Cohen was a wonderful help on the auction and Terri Harary, Carol Menashe and Amy Sasson were fantastic all-around assistants with lots of great ideas." And that feeling of friendship extended to each of the participants who joined us in a glorious day of camaraderie in support of Ezer Mizion's Lottie's Kitchen in Israel. Each bag of purchases also held a sense of fulfillment ...the satisfaction of giving to the ill and the disabled, our brethren across the ocean. |
