Ichilov Hospital Salutes Ezer Mizion Volunteers (06/10)

In a dignified and impressive ceremony, two Ezer Mizion volunteers at Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital - Mrs. Carmela Halpern and Mrs. Devorah Solnik - were awarded honor certificates by the hospital, in recognition of their devoted and outstanding service.

Attending the ceremony were Professor Gabi Barbash, hospital director, Dr. Hessner, hospital manager, doctors and senior staff members, representatives of various organizations and hospital volunteers.

The evening was opened by a choir of volunteers. The choir was followed by an eloquent speech given by Menachem Drach, director of Ezer Mizion's Tel Aviv branch, who was chosen to represent the volunteer organizations serving the hospital. Drach warmly thanked the hospital administration and activity coordinator for the spirit of cooperation between the hospital and the volunteers, which is so beneficial to the patients.

Professor Gabi Barbash, Professor Meller, Dr. Himmelfarb and Mr. Giora Biran also spoke at the occasion. All the speakers pointed out the great importance that the hospital accords volunteer activity and its contribution to the patients.

At the end of the ceremony, shields and honor certificates were given to exceptional volunteers, who were chosen from among 760 volunteers from 12 organizations, following recommendations by the various hospital departments.

Ms. Carmela Halperin and Ms. Devora Solnik, who have been volunteering through Ezer Mizion several times a week for many years, were among the deserving eight awardees.
