Ezer Mizion's Rehabilitative Kitchen, a joint initiative of Ezer Mizion's Mental Health Rehabilitation Department, the National Insurance Institute and the Ministry of Health, is proud to introduce professional catering services.
What makes these catering services unique is that all of the food is prepared by women suffering from mental illness. The Rehabilitative Kitchen offers these women vocational training and employment, under the guidance of professional chefs and social workers.
"The kitchen is a new approach to rehabilitation, and is a ground-breaking step towards changing attitudes regarding mental illness," directors of the kitchen say.
Pioneered by Mrs. Sarah Kriel, the Rehabilitative Kitchen is a modern, progressive facility designed with the aim of reintegrating women with mental illnesses into society and the work force. Work in the kitchen gives these women valuable vocational skills, as well as feelings of accomplishment and productivity.
