Gal Moskowitz joined Ezer Mizion's Registry through the sponsorship of the Howard and Debby Jonas Donor Pool. On June 10, 2008, 25 year old Moskowitz, who is employed by the Israeli army, donated his stem cells to save the life of a cancer patient he did not know.
The procedure was a success and the life of Kalman Shafir, 64, was saved. At an emotional encounter, Moskowitz and Shafir met face to face for the first time at Ezer Mizion's Oranit Guest Home for Children with Cancer.
The Gabi Propp Donor Pool sponsored the lab testing of Nadav Kraus's blood sample when he joined Ezer Mizion's Registry. The 22 year old IDF soldier was found to be a match for a cancer patient he did not know. He donated his precious stem cells on December 29, 2008.
The recipient, Professor Asi Kariv, a university lecturer, requested to meet Kraus so she could thank him in person. This exciting meeting also took place at Oranit, Ezer Mizion's guest home for cancer patients.
