Tu BiShevat Budding throughout Israel (01/10)
Tu BiShevat is an opportunity to celebrate with those who so desperately need a glimmer of joy in the midst of their routine of treatments and pain. The gamut of Ezer Mizion branches and divisions all came forward to bring a taste of Tu BiShevat to hospitals and Golden Age Clubs across Israel.

A special evening was held for parents of children with cancer and for couples of which one spouse suffers from the illness at Ezer Mizion's Cancer Patient Guest Home. After a gourmet wine-tasting workshop, there was a musical evening with Freddy Berk, a known emcee and producer of musical events.

One of the participants, who had just completed a difficult procedure on the day of the party, shared her feelings: "Usually, after I undergo treatment, I can't budge from my bed for a week. But this time, the party literally restored my energies. Tomorrow, I will already be on my feet!"

Special performances took place in various hospital wards, accompanied by lavish refreshments that included a spread of Tu BiShevat fruits. Efrat Arnon and Inbal Laurie, professional stand-up comics, came as volunteers and performed in the oncology ward of Sheba Medical Center, cheering the patients as they were receiving their daily treatment.

The children in Ezer Mizion's new "Reut's Club" Kiryat Gat activity club for children with special needs planted saplings in the yard of the clubhouse in honor of Tu BiShevat. In addition, many esthetically arranged fruit packages were distributed by the Food Service Department to families in which one of the family members is ill or hospitalized and to patients in the hospitals.

At Ezer Mizion we believe that an aura of joy and renewal is a crucial element and source of strength for coping with the day to day challenges that come with illness.
