Child Development Lecture Series

Following numerous requests by parents and educators, the Ezer Mizion Children's Division has initiated a lecture series:  "My Child and Me - Milestones in Children's Development".  Parents and professionals in the fields of educational, health, and social services turned out for the first meeting of the series, held in conjunction with Schneider Children's Medical Center at Ezer Mizion's national headquarters in Bnei Brak.

Dr. D. Inbar, Director of the Institute for the Development of the Child at the Schneider Center, spoke about "Child Development - Stages and Warning Signals," stressing that parents and educators must be alert to minor problems and seek remedies. Dr. N. Naor, director of the Division for Premature Births at the Schneider discussed "Developmental Milestones, and Difficulties of Treating Preemies,"   and Dr. M. Keren a child and adolescent psychiatrist, reviewed the topic of "Eating and Eating Disorders Among Pre-School Children."   The underlying theme of the evening was that problems that may have a long-term impact must not be ignored.

For this purpose, Ezer Mizion's Children's Division has opened an Information and Advisory Center that responds to questions and problems of parents and teachers. The Center's professional staff provides information, guidance, and support to the parents, as well information about rights, educational frameworks, methods of treatment, medical contacts, treatment institutes, professional recommendations and more.  When necessary, the Center also provides advocacy for the parents vis a vis local authorities and help in their getting what is due them.

Ezer Mizion has invested many resources in its Children's Division, which provides a broad array of services to children with special needs and to their parents.
