| Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupoliansky presented Mr. Dano Monkatowitz, Director of the Medical Equipment Loan Center at Ezer Mizion's Jerusalem branch, with the "Mayor's Award" for 2007. The award is granted to outstanding organizations and volunteers in Jerusalem that have made major contributions to bettering the quality of life in the city.
The award was given at a special ceremony held in honor of the 40th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem. Monkatowitz, who has been Director of the Medical Equipment Loan Center at the Jerusalem branch for more than ten years, was granted this special honor in recognition of his selfless devotion to sick people, his constant willingness to serve the public, his assistance in locating missing people, and his unflagging efforts to save lives.
Dr. Bracha Zisser, Director of Ezer Mizion's Bone Marrow Donor Registry, notes: "In recent months we have several times needed blood samples (taken from registrants in the Bone Marrow Donor Registry) to be transported to testing centers, blood samples taken, and other tasks. Mr. Monkatowitz has always been willing and ready to help in the most gracious manner possible. I can think of no one more deserving to receive this award!"
