Three hundred cancer patients attended a special event in honor of Chag Sukkot, along with their family members.
The moving event was hosted by Oranit, Ezer Mizion's Cancer Patient Guest Home in Petach Tikvah. Oranit provides ongoing support to patients with cancer, together with their families, for the entire duration of their treatments.
Squeals and giggles were heard from small mouths, in place of the more common cries of fear and pain, as the jolly puppet show got underway.
At the Sukkah Decoration Workshop, the children and their siblings created lovely decorations, forgetting for the moment the world of IV's and scary treatment.
The guests were treated to a scrumptious meal, a marvelous wrap-up to this day of delights.
Dr. Bracha Zisser, director of Oranit, said: "It was especially moving to see families with a child or parent suffering from cancer, sitting together around the tables and enjoying hours of joint creativity, with a smile of pleasure on their faces that are usually drawn." |
