| A group of 28 women suffering from cancer, along with 12 staff members, took off for a fun, exciting week long outing to London, under close medical supervision.
The trip included: a stay at a deluxe hotel, trips, museums, shows, a visit at the home of Uri Geller, and much more.
For this year's trip, renowned Israeli entertainer Yuval Samo also joined the group, making sure that the smiles and laughter would not let up for a moment.
The participants are all young, active, working women, most of them mothers of children, whose lives suddenly came crashing down one day with the diagnosis: "Cancer!"
Suddenly, they found themselves coping with a harsh new reality that revolved around grueling treatments, repeated hospitalizations, hair loss, and - the terror peering out of their spouse and children's eyes.
Ezer Mizion supports these women with innovative projects that boost their spirits and distract them, at least briefly, from their suffering.
Throughout the year, Ezer Mizion organizes fun days, performances, trips and retreats for the entire family, in recognition of the critical influence positive experiences create for body and spirit.
This exciting week in London is the high point of Ezer Mizion's annual activities for these cancer patients.
In London, Ezer Mizion gives them the fun things that life has to offer, with the objective of infusing them with renewed strength, vitality and enthusiasm for life. Words cannot describe the women's pleasure and elation with this reprieve from their constant struggle with the disease and its fallout. In another month, an additional group - this one consisting of children and teens with cancer - will be going out for a similar week long jaunt to London. |
