Mazel Tov to the following families, who visited and celebrated the Bar/Bat Mitzvah of their children and other special occasions with Ezer Mizion. May they have much nachas and may we share many simchas together. Here are some of the ways friends of Ezer Mizion celebrated with us.

Purim Cards
Dedicated Ezer Mizion volunteers sold Purim cards in support of Ezer Mizion this year. The campaign was especially successful because of the dedication of the volunteers and the fact that Purim came out on Friday and many people sent cards in lieu of Purim baskets. We salute out devoted volunteer, Leedan Cohen of Toronto who topped the list, selling over $4,000 worth of Purim cards this season.

Mishloach Manos
Thousands of children from all parts of Israel prepared mishloach manos packages to be distributed to hospitalized children for Purim. They were joined by the first, second and third grade boys at Yeshiva Tiferes Yisroel in Flatbush who put together and shipped hundreds of shalach manos packages to sick children in Israel, that were distributed in hospitals. This Purim Chessed project was coordinated by Rabbi Weiner, Principal, and Mrs. Faigy Marmorstein, Volunteer Parent Coordinator.

Hands on Chessed
Rabbi Besser and Rabbi Levy
brought their students from Yeshiva of Flatbush to Lottie’s Kitchen where they enthusiastically packaged meals that were distributed to companions of hospitalized patients and to families where a member is hospitalized or struggling with serious/chronic disease. Each year welcomes this dedicated group’s participation as part of their Chessed Mission to Israel and acknowledges their warm financial support.
Bar Mitzvah
Rose and Ike Betesh
capped their son Leon’s bar mitzvah celebration by doing chessed at Ezer Mizion’s Jerusalem Branch Lottie’s Kitchen. Leon, together with his parents and sisters Sandra, Florence and Danielle, prepared sandwiches for distribution in Jerusalem hospitals which will bring cheer and moral support to family members and friends caring for their hospitalized loved ones.
Hands-On Chessed Visit
Aaron and Aliza Mentch and their lovely children spent an inspiring day at Oranit, Ezer Mizion’s Guest Home for children with cancer and visited the Bone Marrow Registry. They also visited Ezer Mizion’s National Headquarters where they prepared delicious sandwiches for the special needs children at Ezer Mizion’s Beit Chanah Activity Clubs and met the children, volunteers and professional staff.
Bar Mitzvah
Stephen and Sharron Singer and family celebrated their son Josh’s bar mitzvah with hands-on chessed at Ezer Mizion’s Michyat Yehudit main food distribution kitchen. Cousins Rivky and Gitty Katz joined them in packing meals for distribution and topped the day off with a tour of Ezer Mizion’s services and facilities. Josh generously contributed his bar mitzvah gifts in support of Ezer Mizion’s activities.
Bar Mitzvah
Following the precedent set by his older brother and sister, who in lieu of bar/bat mitzvah receptions asked their parents to contribute money to Ezer Mizion's Bone Marrow Registry (BMDR), Shlomo Tanur, son of Ezer Mizion volunteer Chaya Tanur of Rehovot, chose to forego a fancy party. His parents accepted his request and marked his bar mitzvah with a generous gift to the Registry that equalled the cost of a party. Shlomo and family toured the Registry and Oranit, Ezer Mizion's Guest Home for children with cancer, where they visited the sick children.

Bat Mitzvah
Vanessa Attias, Monica Fainsold, Vickie Barmak, Vania Jerusalmi, Galia Chontkowsky, Dana Kleiman, Denise Wengrowsky:
a group of eight lively girls and their families came from Monterrey, Mexico to celebrate their bat mitzvahs in Israel. As part of their itinerary they made sandwiches in Ezer Mizion's Jerusalem Branch Lottie's Kitchen and then went to Hadassah Hospital to personally distribute the food they prepared. Inspired by what they saw, they left a generous bat mitzvah donation in support of the food distribution project.

Bat Mitzvah
"Dear Ezer Mizion, I recently had my bat mitzvah. In shul I heard Rabbi Mark Schneier speak passionately about this wonderful charity. This cause in particular spoke out to me so I decided to donate 10% of my bat mitzvah money to your charity. With best wishes, Sophia Inkeles" Special mazel tov to Sophia's parents, Dr. and Mrs. Barton Inkeles.
Bar Mitzvah
Mazel tov to Michael and Sarah Gamal, and their children David, Jennifer and Linda, on the bar mitzvah of their son Charles. In honor of the occasion, the family - together with grandparents Judah and Linda Cohen and good friends Victor and Debby Gindi - spent a memorable afternoon volunteering at Ezer Mizion's Jerusalem Branch Lottie's Kitchen, preparing food for distribution to families of patients hospitalized in local hospitals.

Bar Mitzvah
Daniel Wehrle
marked his Bar Mitzvah with a generous donation to Ezer Mizion's campaign to save the life of Omri Attia, who also became bar mitzvah several weeks ago and is engaged in a fierce struggle with leukemia. Daniel's gesture inspired his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Wehrle, who matched his donation, dedicating it to the same cause.

Bat Mitzvah
Mazel tov to Aaron and Aliza Miller on the bat mitzvah of their daughter Leah which the family celebrated at Ezer Mizion's summer camp for special needs children in Jerusalem, where they distributed bracelets that Leah had made with her friends as part of her Bat Mitzvah project. Congratulations also to sister Elana and brother Akiva.
Bar Mitzvah
Mendel and Davida Feingold
made a generous sponsorship donation to Ezer Mizion's summer camps for special needs children in honor of the Bar Mitzvah of their beloved Yisroel Yosef Feingold.

Bar Mitzvah, Birthday
Mazel Tov to Simeon and Beth Chiger on Jordan's bar mitzvah and on Melissa's 10th birthday. Mazel tov also to brothers Zachary and Joshua and to grandparents Rabbi Jacob and Eleanor Chiger and Hayden and Rita Leventhal. The Chigers distributed a suitcase full of toys to the special needs children and sponsored the purchase of tefillin for a child cared for by Ezer Mizion. Following their visit the Chigers wrote: "We feel very fortunate to have a special and meaningful relationship with Ezer Mizion. Our visit was the highlight of the trip and will be cherished for a long, long time. Please keep in touch."

Bar Mitzvah
Mazel Tov to Michael and Miriam Gordon on Jesse's bar mitzvah celebrated at Ezer Mizion's Jerusalem branch Lottie's Kitchen. The Gordons did a chessed project preparing sandwiches for distribution in local Jerusalem hospitals to companions of patients there. Mazel tov also to siblings Max, Aliza, and Rebecca, and grandparents Barbara and Nachum Gordon and Harriet and George Gelb who took part in the chessed project.

Bar Mitzvah
Danny and Michelle Nassimi
visited Ezer Mizion's Summer Camp for special needs children together with their son Benji, whose bar mitzvah they celebrated in Israel. Deeply moved by their visit, Danny wrote: "The few moments that we were privileged to spend at the camp, were the most precious and the best, yes the best, during the whole visit to Israel, and will stay forever." At the reception, Benji announced that his bar mitzvah gifts would be donated to the special needs children at Ezer Mizion.

Hands-On Chessed Visit
Dr. Herman and Mia Weiss,
and their children Naomi, Racheli, Hadassah, Tamar, Noah, Yaron and Eitan, did hands-on chessed preparing hot meals for distribution in central Israel hospitals to patients' family and companions. They also toured Ezer Mizion's national headquarters and Oranit, Ezer Mizion's Guest Home for cancer patients where they distributed teddy bears that they had lovingly made to the children. Following their experience Dr. Weiss wrote: "Thank you. We had a great and meaningful time. Perhaps with our combined zechus we can merit the coming of Moshiach and complete refuah to all klal Yisroel."

Bat Mitzvah
Leedan Cohen
recently celebrated her Bat Mitzvah - with a mitzvah! She raised $1500, which she then donated to Ezer Mizion. When Leedan later visited Ezer Mizion's summer camps during her family's trip to Israel, the children hosted a special ceremony in her honor.
Bar Mitzvah
In honor of their son Yehoshua's Bar Mitzvah, David and Dina Reiss donated recreational computers to Oranit, Ezer Mizion's guest home for children with cancer.
Bar Mitzvah
Sonny and Erica Kahn
also marked their son Joshua Daniel Jacob's Bar Mitzvah in a unique way. Instead of flowers, they used baskets of toys as centerpieces. After the occasion, they donated the toys to the terror victims, cancer patients and special needs children helped by Ezer Mizion.
Birthday
7-year-old Shai Nadler wanted needy children in Israel to celebrate her birthday with her. So after her birthday party, she donated half of the toys and gifts she received to the children of Ezer Mizion's Terror Orphan Program.
Wedding Anniversary
Mr. & Mrs. S. C.
and Jack & Jenny Stander don't know each other, but they have something in common - they both recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversaries, Ezer Mizion-style! One couple marked the occasion with a donation to Ezer Mizion, and the other requested that in lieu of gifts, their friends should send donations to Ezer Mizion. Mazel tov and thank you!
